Colin West
West was a big, strong centre forward who was really hard to knock off the ball. He started his professional playing career at Sunderland at the young age of seventeen years in 1980 and made over 100 league appearances for the club. He later on moved to Watford, making an impact at the club before moving to Scotland to play for Glasgow Rangers. After a successful spell in Scotland he moved on to sign for West Bromwich Albion.
Gary Bannister
Bannister was a consistently effective goal scorer in a lengthy career in which he starred for North, Midlands and Southern football clubs. He started his career off playing for Coventry City before signing to Sheffield Wednesday and then QPR. He helped West Brom survive in the second division during the 1989 – 1990 campaign. He signed for the club for £250,000 from Coventry City and made a vital contribution to the football team. |
